The Who Re-Hire Drummer Zak Starkey Days After Firing Him

The Who’ve reversed course and re-hired longtime drummer Zak Starkey, days after firing him following a spherical of live shows at London’s Royal Albert Corridor.

Pete Townshend introduced the information in a message posted to Instagram on Saturday. “Information flash! Who again Zak! Zak shouldn’t be being requested to step down from The Who. There have been some communication points, private and personal on all sides that wanted to be handled, and these have been aired fortunately,” the message reads. “Extra posts coming.”

Earlier this week, The Who dismissed Starkey, son of Ringo Starr and their drummer of practically three a long time, over obvious “points with the drumming” that occurred through the band’s live shows at Royal Albert Corridor. Starkey subsequently confirmed the information in a press release to Rolling Stone, saying he was “shocked and saddened” by the band’s choice.
