Questlove’s live-action The Aristocats film has been scrapped by Disney.
The Roots drummer and producer – whose actual identify is Ahmir Okay. Thompson – was engaged on an adaptation of the 1970 animated musical comedy movie he revealed Disney has now pulled the plug.
Talking on Rating: The Podcast, he mentioned: “As soon as Disney had their third president, often when a brand new administration is available in, irrespective of – they’ll reshuffle.
“Then that they had one other administration shuffle. After which it was like, ‘Okay, nicely, all proper.’ And by the third time I used to be similar to, perhaps this is not meant for me.
I’d have liked to have carried out that venture, however there’s like 20 others that I can get to. What I do not do is I do not make bulletins till it is prepared, however there’s actually 4 different movies – I will be working until 2029-2030. So, simply wasn’t meant to occur. Perhaps it’ll occur sooner or later.”
It was first introduced in March 2023 that Questlove had signed on to direct, executive-produce, and oversee the music for the live-action adaptation.
Will Gluck (Peter Rabbit) and Keith Bunin (Onward) have been tapped to jot down the script.
The Aristocats tells the story of Duchess and her household of three kittens, who discover themselves kidnapped by their butler as a technique to get their inheritance.
When the cats are deserted within the countryside distant from their house, they meet Thomas O’Malley, a avenue cat who helps them discover their method again.
