MC50 — the touring band that includes late MC5 member Wayne Kramer alongside members of Soundgarden, Religion No Extra, Fugazi, and others — have introduced a brand new dwell album titled 10 Extra, set for launch December fifth.
The recordings have been captured throughout a 2018 tour celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the legendary proto-punk band MC5, on which Kramer was joined by Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Billy Gould (Religion No Extra), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, ex-Pearl Jam), and Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla).
The rationale the gathering is titled 10 Extra is as a result of an earlier album of various dwell cuts from the identical tour was included as a bonus disc in deluxe editions of the MC5’s 2024 album, Heavy Lifting.

Among the many songs on 10 Extra are “The American Ruse,” “Name Me Animal,” “Rocket Reducer No. 62 (Rama Lama Fa-Fa-Fa),” “ You,” and “Starship,” in addition to a canopy of Ray Charles’ “I Consider To My Soul.” The tunes have been recorded throughout reveals in Seattle, Cincinnati, and Hamburg, Germany.
Sadly, Kramer died in February 2024, and only some months later, drummer Dennis Thompson handed away, leaving no surviving members of the traditional MC5 lineup.
