Mayhem have introduced their seventh studio album, Liturgy of Dying, out February sixth. The lead single “Weep for Nothing” may be streamed now.
The seven-minute observe is a smothering piece that shifts between atmospheric blasting, slower doomy sections, and even a little bit of prog towards the track’s latter half. Prolific vocalist Attila Csihar workout routines each harsh rasps and operatic clear vocals, protecting with the variation within the association.
For this album, Mayhem’s lineup stays in step with that of their 2019 LP Daemon and options Csihar, longtime members Necrobutcher (bass) and Hellhammer (drums), and guitarists Ghul and Morten (aka Teloch).
