Kym Marsh and Richard Arnold are teaming up on a brand new journey programme.
The ‘Morning Dwell’ and ‘Good Morning Britain’ stars are swapping BBC and ITV respectively for Channel 5 because the joint hosts of ‘The Weekend Journey Present’.
As reported by The Solar newspaper’s TVBiz column, she programme will take viewers all over the world to prime hotspots.
Kym stated: “I’m excited to be a part of The Weekend Journey Present with Richard.
“What higher option to discover some lovely locations from the consolation of your personal dwelling?”
And Richard added: “I like to journey and I can’t wait to dive into these fantastic journey tales and share our personal enjoyable experiences together with prime suggestions for viewers.”
Bosses at Channel 5 are stated to be eager to focus on journeys taken by celebrities, together with the likes of Jane McDonald, Nick Knowles and Larry and George Lamb.
Former ‘Coronation Road’ star Kym and showbiz reporter Richard will share tales from their very own travels, whereas journey author Simon Calder will present recommendation for viewers alongside different specialists.
In the meantime, Channel 5’s commissioning editor Greg Barnett stated he’s “thrilled” to have the duo signed up for the present.
He commented: “I’m thrilled to have Kym and Richard on board.
“They’re each well-travelled and have unbelievable insights within the fields of travelling alone, with mates and, in Kym’s case, as a dad or mum.
“Their information, anecdotes, and their improbable on-screen chemistry goes to make ‘The Weekend Journey Present’ must-see TV for any budding globetrotter.”
Kym has co-hosted ‘Morning Dwell’ with Gethin Jones on BBC One since 2020, having risen to fame in Hear’Say earlier than enjoying Michelle Connor on ‘Corrie’ between 2016 and 2019.
Richard beforehand served as Showbiz Editor for ITV Breakfast’s ‘Dawn’, earlier than shifting to ‘GMB’ with it launched a decade in the past.
