The Small Axe, Jesse Royal, who earned a GRAMMY nomination in 2022 for his second album Royal, has closed August together with his brand-new mission No Place Like Dwelling (on Simple Star Data) on August 29. The ten-track album consists of earlier singles corresponding to ‘Blessing‘ (that includes Yohan Marley), ‘Mild Of Mine,’ ‘Hope’ (with Romain Virgo), and ‘Your Soul,‘ alongside six recent songs that includes Canadian R&B singer Melanie Fiona, Kabaka Pyramid, and Excellent Giddimani.
With reggae clearly as its basis, the album fuses genres. Transferring by means of soul, R&B, a touch of dancehall, and hip hop/rap influences, all delivered with Jesse Royal’s distinctive aptitude. The mission displays on each private and present conditions in Jamaica, whereas providing messages of energy and inspiration to the youth and the broader world.
