Jamie xx is again with a brand new standalone single, “Dream Evening.”
The brand new track follows Jamie xx’s 2024 return LP, In Waves, his second album and first since 2015’s beloved In Color. The songwriter, producer, and DJ has been performing “Dream Evening” all through his summer time pageant tour, with the track being featured throughout his units at Lightning in a Bottle, Primavera Sound, LIDO pageant, and Glastonbury.
With slow-burning dynamics and a wistful vocal pattern on the core, “Dream Evening” seems like an extension of the throbbing tenor present in In Waves. The track’s syncopated synths begin to bloom across the halfway level, with a short reprieve within the bridge giving strategy to one other thumping, climactic chorus. “’Dream Evening’ is a tune I made whereas touring In Waves this 12 months,” defined Jamie xx in a press launch. “I’m so fortunate to have many wild and exquisite nights enjoying all over the world to great folks and this track took place fairly naturally, out of all of the superb nights of music and dancing that I get to expertise on and off stage. I’m so grateful for all of it and I wished to share that and hopefully create some extra dreamy moments with this track. Thanks!”
