Zak Starkey has claimed The Who requested him to “lie” about his exit from the band.

The ‘My Era’ rockers – Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend – have let their longtime drummer go weeks after he was fired and rehired.
The 59-year-old musician was believed to have been fired from the group after nearly 30 years enjoying dwell with frontman Roger and guitarist Pete within the wake of a disagreement over his efficiency at a present on the Royal Albert Corridor for the Teenage Most cancers Belief charity in March.

Now, Zak has had his say and claimed he was fired two weeks after being “reinstated”, and allegedly informed to make up that he was leaving the legendary band resulting from his different work commitments.
In a prolonged caption, he wrote: “I used to be fired two weeks after reinstatement and requested to make an announcement saying I had give up the who to pursue my different musical [endeavours].
“This could be a lie.”
Zak – who’s the son of Beatles drummer Sir Ringo Starr – insists he would by no means “give up” The Who.
He continued: “I like the who and would by no means had give up. So I didn’t make the assertion ….quitting the who would even have let down the numerous superb individuals who stood up for me (thanks all 1,000,000 occasions over and extra) through the weeks of mayhem of me going ‘in an out an in an out an in an out like a bleedin squeezebox.”

The Who will embark on ‘The Music Is Over North America Farewell Tour’, which kicks off on August 16 at Amerant Financial institution Enviornment in Florida, and is because of wrap on September 28 on the MGM Grand Backyard Enviornment in Las Vegas.
