Dominica’s personal AbiYah Yisrael continues her distinctive path in reggae music with the discharge of her new music video for “Wake Up”, taken from her debut EP African Renaissance (2023). The video was shot throughout the gorgeous landscapes of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Born Nicole Alfred and raised in a Christian house in Glasgow—a village within the southwest of Dominica—AbiYah’s journey into music started early, singing at school choirs and native competitions. But it surely was throughout her college years that she linked deeply with roots reggae, main her towards a path she now calls Fact Music—a mix of reggae, calypso, and cadence-lypso rooted in religious identification and goal.

Co-owner of ChaYah Studios in Fortress Bruce, AbiYah produces music that displays her dedication to Torah and her identification as a daughter of the nation of Israel. Her lyrics communicate to self-discovery, consciousness, and wholesome residing, with earlier singles like “Eat Clear Reside Clear” and “Herb Tree” gaining worldwide traction.
