The Isley Brothers’ Chris Jasper has died on the age of 73.

The celebrated singer-songwriter, and producer – who penned, produced and organized hits together with ‘For the Love of You’, ‘Between the Sheets’ and ‘Combat the Energy’ for the legendary R’n’B/funk group – was identified with most cancers in December and handed away on Sunday (23.02.25).
A press release from his household posted to his Fb web page learn: “Chris Jasper, famend singer–songwriter and producer recognized for his pivotal position in shaping the sound of The Isley Brothers and Isley-Jasper-Isley, and over three a long time as a distinguished solo artist, handed away on February 23 on the age of 73 following a most cancers analysis in December, 2024.”
Jasper is survived by his spouse, Margie Jasper, and three sons Michael, Nicholas, and Christopher.
They stated: “He might be deeply missed and his legacy will stay on as an inspiration for generations.”
Jasper began studying the classical piano on the age of seven and later attended the distinguished Juilliard College of Music in New York Metropolis and earned a Bachelor of High-quality Arts diploma in music composition from C.W. Put up, Lengthy Island College.
He joined The Isley Brothers in 1973 and was instrumental in shaping their sound and remodeling the group type a vocal trio into chart-topping, six-member R’n’B/funk band.
Japser – who performed the keyboard and synthesizer for the ‘Shout’ hitmakers – would later type the spin-off group Isley-Jasper-Isley with Ernie and Marvin Isley in 1984, who had a success with ‘Caravan of Love’ in 1985.
Jasper would go on to launch a profitable solo profession in 1987, with the prolific star releasing many albums underneath his Gold Metropolis Information label, the final being 2023’s ‘It Began With a Kiss’.
Jasper’s music has been sampled by the likes of Whitney Houston, Tupac Shakur, and Jay-Z.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame in 1992 as a member of The Isley Brothers and acquired a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.
