The Floor is coming to ITV

ITV has commissioned a UK model of The Ground.

The hit TV quiz present began as a Dutch collection and has spawned variations all over the world, together with a US version fronted by Hollywood star Rob Lowe.

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s director of leisure, mentioned: “The Ground, with its compelling gameplay, is a superb addition to our roster of current common quiz reveals throughout ITV and ITVX.”

The programme sees 81 quizzers competing on an LED flooring which is break up in 81 squares, with every one representing a subject of information, like “well-known athletes”, “iconic buildings” and “mammals”.

The purpose of the sport is to take over the entire flooring to win the money prize, and every duel between the contestants ups the stakes,

A random contestant is chosen to problem an adjoining opponent in a duel, with some questions involving photographs and audio, and others being open questions, a number of alternative and extra.

The winner takes over the opponent’s sq. with the loser kicked out of the sport, and after 10 episodes the final individual standing takes house the cash.

And Andrew Mackenzie, CEO at South Shore Manufacturing, added: “The Ground is an unbelievable format, its success all over the world is unprecedented and we are able to’t wait to mild it up within the UK.”

The collection is about to air on ITV in 2026, however there are at present no particulars on who will host the UK version.
