The First Four Danzig Albums Have Been Reissued on Vinyl

Danzig’s first 4 albums have lastly been reissued on vinyl. The marketing campaign comes by way of Common Music, which acquired Danzig’s catalog from Warner Bros. again in 2007.

Initially launched on Rick Rubin’s Def American Recordings imprint, these 4 albums have by no means been formally repressed on correct, non-picture disc vinyl since their unique releases. Every retails for $27.98 and is pressed on normal weight black vinyl that’s housed in normal or gatefold jackets, relying on the album, with printed interior sleeves.

Sadly, Danzig’s self-titled debut, aka “Danzig 1,” seems to be already bought out within the US as of this posting. Containing Danzig’s greatest hits, “Mom” and “Twist of Cain,” this LP marked Rubin’s first full-length launch on Def American in 1988. Since then, it’s been consistently bootlegged on vinyl, with the one official launch being a poor-sounding image disc in 2007, across the time of Common’s acquisition (per Discogs).

As for future Danzig albums, Glenn himself has insisted that he’s carried out with the album format, although singles with the Misfits or his eponymous band aren’t off the desk. The final album of unique materials launched beneath his personal title stays 2017’s Black Laden Crown.
