Scotts Maphuma apologises to fans after being cancelled

South African musician Scotts Maphuma has issued a public apology following backlash over his controversial stance on not taking photos with followers.

The artist made headlines weeks in the past after refusing to pose for photographs at gigs, a transfer that many in Mzansi noticed as conceited.

In response, some followers stopped dancing or partaking together with his music throughout dwell performances, resulting in a wave of on-line criticism and what many described as him being “cancelled.”

Taking to X (previously Twitter), Scotts expressed regret and pledged to do higher:

“I wish to take a second to sincerely apologize to all my supporters. I’ve let a few of you down, and I take full accountability. Development comes with proudly owning your errors and I’m dedicated to doing higher, for myself and for you. Thanks for nonetheless believing in me.”

Regardless of his assertion, the apology obtained blended reactions on-line.

Whereas some appreciated his effort, others weren’t satisfied.

One person commented: “Try to be stating precisely what you might be apologizing for. Till such time, this apology will not be real. Taking accountability to your actions—mentioning these actions—is the one approach to win supporters again.”
