Jurassic World: Rebirth author David Koepp has mentioned Steven Spielberg was “deeply concerned” in making the film.
The 78-year-old director helmed the unique 1993 movie Jurassic Park, its 1997 sequel The Misplaced Work: Jurassic Park and has served as an government producer on the Jurassic World collection ever since, and Koepp – who wrote the primary film and its follow-up – revealed one of many essential causes he returned for Jurassic World: Rebirth was as a result of Spielberg was “very concerned” in it.
Talking to Deadline about Spielberg, the 62-year-old scribe mentioned: “Oh, he was very concerned.
“That was one of many causes I most needed to do it. As a result of Steven was deeply concerned from the start, and for the six months that we had been engaged on the script, it was actually simply him and me.
“I would ship him my concepts, and we would work on them, and when you’ve got Steven’s full consideration, the outcomes will be fairly spectacular.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth – which stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali – follows a crew of covert operatives on a mission to cease a rogue biotech organisation from unleashing weaponised dinosaurs around the globe.
Because the chaos escalates, the crew uncovers a darkish secret linked to the unique Jurassic legacy.
Koepp beforehand mentioned Jurassic World: Rebirth – which was directed by Gareth Edwards and releases on 2 July 2025 – would seize the “spirit of the primary film”.
He advised TheWrap: “[We were trying to evoke] the spirit of the primary film, which is the tone that we want to get closest to.”
The author added it was “the concept of beginning afresh” which satisfied him to return to the Jurassic collection.
He mentioned: “You do not usually get that likelihood, the place they provide you only a few pointers, besides there should be dinosaurs in it.”
Even so, earlier than he agreed to come back again for Jurassic World: Rebirth, Koepp had an inventory of calls for he gave to Common Footage that the studio needed to meet.
He defined: “Primary was – the occasions of the earlier six films can’t be denied or contradicted, as a result of I hate a retcon.

Reflecting on returning to the Jurassic collection, Koepp mentioned it was “bizarre and trippy” for him to step again in time for Jurassic World: Rebirth.
