Ashbourne indie-rock outfit Public Warning is again with their newest single, “Reckless.” This monitor is a tantalising preview of their forthcoming EP, OVER/UNDER. Produced by Keelan O’Reilly, “Reckless” showcases the band’s signature dynamic type, mixing vibrant guitar riffs, synth washes, and a sturdy rhythm part. The tune transitions from mild, swirling verses to an explosive refrain harking back to Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Frontman Adam O’Dea’s melancholic but melodic vocals add a catchy ingredient, balancing the monitor’s alt-rock depth with industrial enchantment. O’Dea explains, “Reckless tells the story of how suspicions and distrust can tear down a relationship simply as rapidly and violently as infidelity. Whereas staying true to our indie-rock roots, ‘Reckless’ explores a heavier sound than our earlier singles, which you’ll count on extra of on our upcoming EP ‘OVER/UNDER‘.”
Recorded at Jejune Studios in Drogheda earlier this yr, “Reckless” and the remainder of the EP mark a brand new chapter for Public Warning. Since forming in 2015, the band—comprising lifelong buddies Adam O’Dea, JP Roche, Robbie Szpara, and Mark Tuite—has captivated audiences with their highly effective lyrics and tight rhythms.
