Metallica have paid tribute to a fan who died at their live performance final week.

Metallica shared a touching tribute to their fan who died at their Edmonton live performance

The heavy metallic legends performed the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Canada on Friday (23.08.24) as a part of their ‘M72 World Tour’, and so they have despatched their “condolences” to Lorne’s (aka Viking) household and mentioned they had been “touched” to spend his “ultimate time” with him.

Alongside an image of the fan, the band wrote on Instagram this week: “Friday night time, August twenty third, in Edmonton we misplaced a Metallica member of the family on the present. He died attributable to well being circumstances. Leaving the earthly physique and onto the following journey. Very unhappy when loss of life occurs, however we’re touched that he spent a few of his ultimate, hopefully joyful, time with us. Our condolences to the household and pals of Lorne ‘Viking.’”

Lorne is claimed to have obtained “aggressive CPR” after falling sick within the VIP space, the entrance mosh pit, on the present.

The medical challenge he suffered is unknown.

A Fb consumer by the title Erika Oldale claims she was a good friend of Lorne and shared her account of dropping her “pricey good friend”.

She wrote within the Dialogue part of the ‘M72 World Tour 2023/2024 (Metallica)’ group: “Edmonton live performance on Friday night time, my good friend Lorne suffered a medical challenge and was taken out of the snake pit on a stretcher whereas EMS did aggressive CPR. Regardless of all their efforts, Lorne didn’t survive. Seeing the outpouring of concern and nicely needs makes us that had been blessed to name him good friend really feel rather less misplaced and alone. Thanks to the live performance goers for that. He was the kindest soul. All of us referred to as him Viking. He can be missed terribly!! Please crank up a Metallica tune, and lift a glass for the Viking!! RIP my pricey good friend.”
