Justin Hawkins has warned music is “in hassle” if Yungblud is the way forward for rock.

The Darkness frontman sparked upset when he blasted the I Assume I’m Okay hitmaker’s MTV VMAs tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne and whereas he doesn’t see the row as a “spat”, he stands by his feedback over Yungblud’s use of autotune.

He instructed Traditional Rock journal: “I don’t see it as a spat. We stated every thing we wish to say concerning the VMAs, and in some ways in which’s cynical and nauseating and a bit s***.

“However the ‘bit s***’ bit comes from the auto-tune that was being run in actual time.

“If the way forward for rock wants auto-tune to hold a track, then we’re in hassle.

“Additionally, if the way forward for rock comes from musical theatre and Disney, if that is Ozzy’s inheritor, we’re in hassle.
