Throughout their Saturday set on the first weekend of Coachella 2025, Japanese Breakfast coated the Gorillaz’ basic “On Melancholy Hill,” taking part in into their newly launched file For Melancholy Brunettes (and unhappy girls).
On the Out of doors Theatre, Michelle Zauner and the band performed an 11-song set containing a mixture of crowd favorites, like “Street Head” and “Be Candy,” and For Melancholy Brunettes singles, like “Orlando in Love” and “Mega Circuit.” Nearing the top of their time, Zauner began in “On Melancholy Hill,” with tour mate Christabel Lin offering the track’s recognizable motif on electrical violin.
