Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will return for Sensible Magic 2.
The pair – who performed the eccentric aunts of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman’s characters within the authentic 1998 film – are set to reprise their roles within the upcoming sequel, in line with Selection.
Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Joey King and Lee Tempo may also co-star.
In the meantime, producer Denise Di Novi beforehand promised that followers might be “very happy” with the sequel.
Kidman and Bullock will reprise their roles as witches the Owens sisters and Di Novi defined the film will draw closely from the supply materials – Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The E-book of Magic.
She advised Leisure Weekly: “I believe (followers are) going to be very happy. We’ll be very trustworthy. We’re [aware of] how necessary these characters and that film are to so many individuals. We’re not going to reinvent the wheel.
“We’ll draw from Alice Hoffman’s books, as the primary film did, and we’ll be true to the chronology of what number of years later it’s.”
Di Novi defined how the crew will “be respectful to the characters, story, and areas” from the unique image.
She stated: “It is going to be in 2025, however I am not precisely positive when. We’re simply starting the script, and Akiva Goldsman, who labored on the unique and 10 million different issues since then, is writing the script.”
Nicole confirmed that she and Sandra could be showing within the sequel simply days after the undertaking was introduced by Warner Bros.
She advised Folks journal: “Sure I might be in it. And Sandy might be in it. And that is that.
