Cleto Escobedo III, the chief of the Jimmy Kimmel Dwell! band Cleto and the Cletones, died at age 59 on Tuesday morning. The tragic information was introduced by Kimmel through social media on Tuesday afternoon.

“Early this morning, we misplaced an incredible buddy, father, son, musician and man, my longtime bandleader Cleto Escobedo III,” acknowledged Kimmel on Instagram. “To say that we’re heartbroken is an understatement. Cleto and I’ve been inseparable since I used to be 9 years previous.”

He added, “The truth that we started working collectively every single day is a dream neither of us might ever have imagined would come true. Cherish your pals and please maintain Cleto’s spouse, youngsters and fogeys in your prayers.”

As Kimmel talked about, he and Escobedo have been lifelong buddies. The saxophonist led the late-night present’s home band for the reason that TV program’s inception in 2003, and co-wrote the theme track together with Les Pierce and Jonathan Kimmel.
