Deftones have been one of many earliest signings to Maverick Data, the label co-founded by Madonna. Wanting again on that point, frontman Chino Moreno admits it was “mind-blowing” to get the pop celebrity’s seal of approval.
The Deftones singer mentioned the band’s interactions with Madonna in a brand new interview with The Irish Instances. As he recalled, “It was [A&R rep] Man [Oseary] who found us first, after which he and [Maverick co-founder] Freddy DeMann flew us from our base in Sacramento to Los Angeles, the place we performed a few songs for them in a bit of rehearsal house.”
