After greater than sixty years of life lived within the shadows of two reggae legends, Black Pearl Livingston is stepping ahead together with her personal voice. The sister of Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer is about to launch her long-awaited debut album, Your Richness Is Life, on August 22.
Produced by Greg Quail, a longtime fanatic of Jamaican music, the ten-track undertaking explores themes of actuality, romance, and Rastafari. The album contains eight authentic songs written by Black Pearl herself, together with one tune every from her brothers’ iconic catalogs. She covers Bob Marley’s Natty Dread and Bunny Wailer’s Rock N Groove.

Born Claudette “Pearl” Livingston in 1962, Black Pearl is the daughter of Cedella Marley and Thaddeus Livingston. Along with her roots deeply tied to 2 of reggae’s most influential voices, it was solely a matter of time earlier than her personal music would come to gentle. After many years marked by private loss and resilience, she describes the album merely: “Higher late than by no means.”
